


Taekwon-do was created by General Choi Hong Hi shortly after the Japanese occupation of Korea during WWII.
It has its roots in Shotokan Karate, Taekyyon, and other styles from the region and was developed by members of the Korean armed forces under the direction of Choi. It is the original form of Taekwon-do.
ITF Taekwon-do follows the principles of physics and a thorough understanding of human anatomy, to mold the hands and feet into powerful and efficient weapons for self-defense.
